Why this one is not a close call

Most comparisons of these two argue about dashboards and prompt counts. For Claude, none of that matters. One tool tracks it on a plan you can buy from the website. The other makes you call sales.

If Claude is your reason for buying, that decides it.

Peec is not worse. Look at prompt volume and it is arguably better value: €425 buys 350 prompts against Profound’s 100 at $399. Peec also covers multi country tracking and a Looker Studio connection at that tier. If your buyers live in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, Peec gives you more tracking for the money.

But it does not track Claude unless you go Enterprise. So the answer changes completely depending on which model you care about, which is why “which tool is best” is the wrong question to start with.

Ask which model your buyers actually use first

Plenty of teams buy Claude tracking because Claude feels important. Then it turns out their category barely shows up there.

Start with the AI search market share picture for your sector. If Claude is a rounding error for you, buy the cheaper tool and track the engines that send people.

Which model do your buyers use? Claude matters Profound, from $399 ChatGPT and Google Peec, more prompts per euro Either way you still need citations
The tool choice depends on the model. The work does not.

What neither tool does

Both report. Neither writes you into the answers.

Claude pulls heavily from the open web and from pages other people published about you. Our notes on how to rank in Claude go through that in detail, and the same logic showed up when we looked at how ChatGPT selects sources.

The pattern is boring and consistent. Brands that get named in comparison pages and roundups get quoted. Brands with a lovely homepage and nothing else do not. That is the thinking behind alternatives page placements, which target the exact moment someone asks a model for other options.

On WordPress you can watch some of this yourself. AEO God Mode has a citation tracker that logs it on your own site.

Which should you buy?

Buy Profound if Claude is genuinely part of your buyer’s research, and you accept paying $399 to see 100 prompts.

Buy Peec if your buyers sit in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity. More prompts, lower price, and Claude was never the point.

Buy neither yet if you have not done any work for a tracker to measure. That is the most common mistake I see. People buy the scoreboard before they field a team.

Pro tip: Peec publishes its own Peec vs Profound comparison. Read it, then read Profound’s version. Where two vendors disagree about each other is usually where the real trade off sits.

Frequently asked questions

Does Peec AI track Claude?

Only on Enterprise. Peec’s Starter, Pro and Advanced plans let you choose 3 models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini. Claude Sonnet 4 is listed under Enterprise, which is custom priced, per Peec’s pricing page on 28 July 2026.

How much is Peec AI?

Starter is €85/month for 50 prompts, Pro is €205/month for 150 prompts, and Advanced is €425/month for 350 prompts. Peec states a 15% discount for annual billing.

Is Profound better than Peec AI?

For Claude, yes, because Peec does not sell Claude tracking on a published plan. For ChatGPT and Google surfaces, Peec gives more tracked prompts at a lower price, so the answer flips.

Will either tool improve my AI visibility?

No. Both measure what the models already say. Improving visibility comes from earning mentions on pages the models read, then using a tracker to confirm the change.

Which AI models matter most for my business?

It depends on your category and audience. Check where your buyers research before choosing a tool, since paying to track a model your market does not use adds cost without insight.
